🎵 What is a Songify Token?

A Songify token is a secure API key that allows the Songify desktop application to communicate with your account and access premium features. Each user gets a unique token that's used to authenticate requests to the Songify API.

🔑 How to Obtain Your Songify Token

Step 1: Create an Account

1. Visit the Songify website
2. Click "Login" or navigate to the account page
3. Click "Login with Twitch" to authenticate using your Twitch account
4. Grant the necessary permissions when prompted

Step 2: Generate Your Token

1. After logging in, you'll be redirected to your Account page
2. Scroll down to the "Security" section
3. Click the "Generate new secret token" button
4. A confirmation dialog will appear asking: "Are you sure you want to generate a new token? Your old token will stop working."
5. Click "Generate" to confirm

Step 3: Copy Your Token

1. A popup will appear with your new token
2. Important: Copy this token immediately - it will only be shown once!
3. Click "Copy Token" to copy it to your clipboard
4. Store it securely (you'll need it for Songify)

Step 4: Configure Songify

1. Open Songify
2. Go to Settings -> System
3. Paste your token in the API token field

⚠️ Important Token Security Notes

• Never share your token with anyone
• Store it securely - treat it like a password
• Generate a new token if you suspect it's been compromised
• Only one token is active per account - generating a new one invalidates the previous one
